Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
Short Story sells credits that are used to create videos. Because credits are spent on paid AI processing the moment a video is made, refunds are limited as follows.
When you can get a refund
- You can request a full refund of a monthly payment within 7 days of that payment, only if none of the credits from it have been used.
- Requests must come from the email on your account to [email protected], with your payment or order ID.
- Approved refunds go back to the original payment method within 5–7 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider.
When refunds are not possible
- Once any credits from a monthly payment have been used, that payment is not refundable — fully or partly.
- Requests made more than 7 days after a payment are not refundable.
- Credits left unused at the end of a billing month expire and are not refundable.
- Free or promotional credits (such as welcome credits) have no cash value and are never refundable.
- Dissatisfaction with the creative result of a video that was successfully made is not a ground for a refund. You can edit and rebuild episodes using credits.
Failed videos
If a video fails or is interrupted on our side, the credits spent on it are automatically returned to your credit balance. This is a credit refund, not a money refund.
Cancellation
Your plan renews automatically every month. You can cancel anytime from the Credits page or by emailing us; cancelling stops the next charge, and you keep that month’s remaining credits until the billing month ends. No partial refunds are given for the rest of a month.
Payment problems
If money was deducted but credits were not added, contact us with your payment ID. Payments that are not completed are automatically reversed by the payment provider.
